1. How secure is my account information if I wager via computer, mobile phone or PDA?

HPIBET is a secure application, built with many controls to protect the privacy of your personal information and the integrity of your wagering activities. All HPIBET wagering transactions are handled by Woodbine Entertainment Group’s in-house wagering systems – the same systems used when you are at a track or teletheater. While using HPIBET all of your activities are encrypted, using SSL or TLS, between your PC/device and our secured servers.

2. How do I cancel a wager?

There are multiple methods to cancel wagers depending on how they were placed.

  • Wagers made online can be cancelled via the My Transactions/Bet History page on HorsePlayerInteractive.com. (May not be available in some territories)
  • Wagers made through your HPI account on a self serve terminal can be cancelled on the self serve terminal.
  • All wagers made online, by phone or on a self serve terminal can be cancelled by contacting the HPI Customer Support Centre at 1-888-675-8886 and confirming your cancellation with an HPI representative.

3. What if I have questions regarding the bets I make through HPIBET?

HPI representatives will be able to assist you with any question you may have. They will be able to differentiate between wagers placed over the Internet, on track and over the phone. If you are calling regarding a wager placed on the Internet please have the details of the wager on hand. Call us toll free at 1-888-675-8886 or locally at (416) 675-8886

4. Can I access scratches/changes and odds from HPIBET? How can I tell when a horse is scratched?

Morning line odds and win odds are available directly within the various HPIBET services. Within HPIBET Web Edition and HPIBET Pocket PC Edition, race win odds will be presented, and continually updated, starting 15-20 minutes before each race. Also, within HPIBET Web Edition and HPIBET Pocket PC Edition, scratched runners will be presented as a horse name with a 'strike through' line through the name. Within HPIBET Mobile Edition scratched runners will be presented with 'SCR' shown in place of the runner's odds. Within HPIBET Web Edition the 'Changes' link will take you to a listing of Equibase track changes. Race changes can also be found via the Race Information page of this site.

5. What happens to a queued wager if there is a late scratch?

lf your wager was already in the queue, nothing will happen until you place the wager, at which time the wager will not be accepted and an error message will be displayed. You can modify the runners selected in this queued wager on the 'Select Horse' page and then place the wager again. If you attempt to place a bet for a race no longer available for wagering the system will display one of several possible error messages to you, all of which indicate that your wager could not be accepted.

6. What happens if a race goes off before I finish composing and confirming my bet?

If you attempt to place a bet for a race no longer available for wagering the system will display one of several possible error messages to you indicating that your wager could not be accepted.

7. What are queued bets?

Queued bets are wagers which have been composed and then saved in a 'bet queue' instead of being immediately submitted. Using the bet queue you can compose several bets and then submit them in rapid succession at a time of your choosing. You can submit all of your queued bets at one or you can submit selected bets.

8. What happens if I submit multiple queued bets? Do I have to confirm each individually?

If multiple queued bets are submitted in a single batch, they will all be placed in one at a time, in succession. You will be prompted to confirm each bet individually.

9. Can I print a list of my day's wagers?

Yes, within HPIBET Web Edition, simply select the "Today's Bet's" tab and then use the Print option to print the displayed listing.

10. Do you keep a history of my wagers?

Yes. HPIBET displays your current day wagers. However we also maintain internal records of historical wagers. If you have a question or concern regarding a wager please call the HPI Call Centre at 1-888-675-8886.

11. How long in advance can I place a wager?

You can place a wager as soon as the tote system has opened the race card for wagering. Typically this will be half an hour before post time of the first race in a card. The tracks that you can wager on will be listed on the HPIBET track selection page. This list will vary based on what races are running on a given day. On occasion, advance day wagering will be available for selected special races. Advance day wagering will be indicated with the code "(ADV)" appended to the track name.

12. Can two people or more use the same computer to place a wager?

Yes, you can share a computer. However each person must use their own HPI account and must have logged onto HPIBET user their own account credentials.

13. If my computer crashes can an HPI representative place a wager for me?

HPI representatives cannot place wagers for customers, as per the HPI Account Wagering Terms and Conditions.

14. What if my wager is rejected by HPIBET yet the race is still several minutes to post?

You can try to place wagers using your account with the phone system. If you continue to encounter problem with placing of bets via HPIBET then contact us.

15. If the telephone wagering system goes down will I still be able to place bets on the computer?

If the problem is specifically with the telephone wagering system then you will still be able to wager using HPIBET. The systems are completely separate and your wager will be processed. If the tote system is unavailable then no wagers can be placed through any HPI account wagering services.
